RE: [Acoustic Guitarist Guild] Beginning Guitarist

Hello thank you for the response. LOL I do believe my guitar is a fairly cheap one. I paid around $99 dollars for it. And the guy at the music store told me it would be a good beginner guitar. I trusted him due to the fact that it was the cheapest guitar. I wasn't sure how well I would adapt to the guitar so I didnt want to send alot of money. But now that I am enjoying it and becoming addicting very quickly, later a well upgrade. I just wanna learn my chords and how to transition alittle better first. I was just afraid a lighter string might not be the best thing to help since I need to develop stronger fingers

Hi, the difficulty you are describing is not about the strings, but about
the set-up of your guitar.

I am not familiar with Lauren guitars so I don't know if yours is a good
make or a cheap item. As with everything else - you get what you pay for as
far as quality is concerned.
However, I am assuming that as you are having discomfort - it will be a
steel string and not a nylon strung guitar.

If the distance between the top of the 12th fret and the bottom of your bass
E string is more than 1/8th of an inch -your action is too high and you need
to have it adjusted.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Andy

Hi... I just started playing the acoustic guitar. I'm moving along at a slow
rate but I'm getting better. I was wondering if anyone would know what's a
good string to use. I have a lauren acoustic guitar. Im not fimilar with
what gauge is better. My strings are super hard and I'm having a hard time
pushing them down. Would it benefit me as a beginner to have a string that's
easier to push down. Or stay with the strings I have now?
