RE: [Acoustic Guitarist Guild] Beginning Guitarist

I do have a music store near me. This is actually where I bought the guitar. When I bought it told him I didn't want something to expensive since I was just beginning and wasn't sure how well I would adapt to it. I'm fairly sure that my guitar isn't a very good quality just by listening to differnt sounds of guitars. Or maybe it's just user error. LOL. It's kinda hard because there isn't really anyone I feel comfortable asking here. So I'm not sure if my technique is correct. I do hear some improvment in my sound. I'm just having a hard time getting my fingers to transition correctly at atleast a medium pace. I'm am learning that if I postion my fingers certain ways it is easier to hold the strings down though. I really thank you for responding and I'll look into the action on my guitar. Although it looks pretty low to the fret board. Thank you again for the response :)

Anything to make things easier is a good thingJ I use elixir PB Medium
Lights on my guitar :

and lots of my students use EJ16 D Addario Strings:

Also another thing to have checked on your guitar is how the guitar is set
up. You might have a really high action and/or the nut may need to be filed.
Do you have a set up person near you?

Hi... I just started playing the acoustic guitar. I'm moving along at a slow
rate but I'm getting better. I was wondering if anyone would know what's a
good string to use. I have a lauren acoustic guitar. Im not fimilar with
what gauge is better. My strings are super hard and I'm having a hard time
pushing them down. Would it benefit me as a beginner to have a string that's
easier to push down. Or stay with the strings I have now?
