Indigenous announces Spring tour dates supporting "soulful" and "explosive" CD Broken Lands

Mar 30, 2009 - 2:12 AM
Singer/songwriter/ guitar virtuoso Mato Nanji and Indigenous announce a spring tour in support of their recent Vanguard Records release, Broken Lands. The trek kicks off on April 13th in Ann Arbor and brings the Native American blues-roots band to the East Coast, Midwest and Southwest.

The tour comes off the heels of the successful and prestigious Experience Hendrix tour where Nanji, along with Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and veteran guitarists Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson and others, performed music written by and associated with Jimi Hendrix to guitar fanatics and psychedelic blues aficionados nationwide.

Indigenous' recent Vanguard Records album, the intensely personal Broken Lands, and his live prowess has the Chicago Tribune citing Mato Nanji as a "fine songwriter and guitar virtuoso," the Cleveland Scene finding "incredible and insightful grasp of earthy roots craftsmanship, " and the Washington Times witnessing as he "nearly tore the strings off his Stratocaster while paying tribute to Jimi Hendrix."

Stand out tracks on Broken Lands include the romantic soul-searcher 'Should I Stay,' the compelling 'Place I Know,' and sweet ballad, "Eyes of a Child."

In February 2009, Indigenous announced the creation of a scholarship program to provide financial resources to American Indian students attending tribal colleges in their home state of South Dakota. Through the nationally established American Indian College Fund, Indigenous' contributions will help students complete a college degree, educate the mind and spirit of Native students while making a difference in Native communities.

Raised as a member of the Nakota Sioux Nation in South Dakota, Mato first came to musical prominence when he formed Indigenous with his brother, sister and cousin. In 1998, they released their debut, Things We Do, which received wide, mass reception and included the Top 10 smash hit "Now That You're Gone." Indigenous music has been featured in multiple episodes of The Deadliest Catch as well as the film Deal, starring Burt Reynolds.

While Mato's siblings have moved on to pursue other musical paths, Mato is excited to carry on the Indigenous torch and says this period of time is "very liberating, because we are a new band again."

Indigenous' live shows on the Experience Hendrix tour and festivals such as Wakarusa and Langerado, along with relentless national touring, have enraptured fans. With the warm dusty voice and the soaring, spirited guitar fireworks, Mato Nanji articulates a deeply intimate sound that pays tribute to his Native American legacy.

I just read that the Aura Image Gallery software is included with the Ellipse Aura.

If somebody out there has the Ellipse Aurra installed on his instrument, it would be kind to ZIP me the install programm aurainst_V1.exe or the entire contence of the with the Ellipse delivered CD.

Best regards
